Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder has finally arrived in Mecca Cosmetica Sydney. I was so excited about this product because there are so many beauty bloggers rave beauty product. drooling over press images. According to Hourglass, the Ambient Lighting Powders are not your typical highlighting powder. These powders have “photoluminescent technology that refracts light, creates transparent coverage and renders the skin gorgeously radiant.”
There are total six universal finishing powders. Each powder captures, diffuses and softens surrounding light with groundbreaking photoluminescent technology.
The shades include…
Diffused Light: A soft, warm, pale yellow powder. Reduces redness, eliminates shine and gives skin clarity.
Ethereal Light: An opalescent sheer, cool white powder. Eliminates shine and mimics a moonlit glow- even in broad daylight.
Radiant Light: A sun-kissed golden beige powder. Extends a summer glow or enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth.
Mood Light: A soft, sheer lavender pink powder. Mimics the softest, most forgiving light and reveals your brightest complexion.
Dim Light: A neutral peach beige powder. Blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones.
Luminous Light: A champagne pearl powder. Creates a soft, incandescent candlelit glow- day or night.
Josh Collier had amazing review of all six of these beautiful powder below.
I’ve finally gotten my hands on one of the much-anticipated Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder In Luminous Light AUD62.00. Luminous Light was designed to give a candlelight glow to the face and this fits the product perfectly. It’s a stunning champagne pearl with a slight pinkish tint that gives THE prettiest natural glow. The formula is soft and the color-intensity has just the right balance of pigment and softness to make the entire face glow. It melds into your skin and illuminates the face (rather than sitting on it or emphasizing pores like some highlighters can). What amazes me is how complex the pearl particles are. Depending on the angle you will sometimes see a straight champagne, other times more pearl, other times a hint of pink. I attribute the candlelight glow this product gives to the complexity and perfect blend of pigments.
Out of curiousity, I managed to take this pan outside the house just want to see how the difference lighting produce different shading. Check out below. I am quite surprised! Can you believe your eyes that these 5 shades are Luminous Light??? Wow….!
This was taken at night in fluro light.
On the arm, Luminous Light swatches more pinkish but on the face it’s more neutral/flesh toned for me.
The swatches below inner and outer arm. Our Summer just ended and now Autumn. I tend to get tan in Summer and fair in Winter.
(Inner arm)
(Outer arm)
I applied Luminous Light as Highlight on top of my cheek, only smooth it on not buff.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Brush is sold separately. The brush is densely packed, baby-soft powder brush. This densely packed brush is ideal for evenly dispersing Ambient Lighting Powder all over the face. It comes equipped with extra-soft, high-grade Taklon bristles and is packaged in a protective travel-pouch. This brush smoothes the powder onto the complexion perfectly in just a few strokes (apply it like this instead of buffing for the best effect).
I can’t wait to go to Mecca Cosmetica again to try other shades especially Difused Light and Dim Light. This time I will consider to get a brush.
Have you tried Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder? How do you like it?
